why does dolphin have payment settings?

why does it have these settings.. I mean what can you do with them? I thought it might have some use with the events thing to buy tickets? but all that happends is a user subscribes to the event but gets an email saying they succesfully purchested a ticket when they havent paid anything... is there anyway something can be done so they do actually purches a eticket? As far as I understand those settings, you can force members to pay you to access your dating site, in the membership types you can set prices when you create new membership types. My site is aiming at being a Pagan commune, we have no fees so I haven't used that function, I'm sure someone will pop along soon enough to help you more.
