This forum is for beta and RC, but your question is related to stable dolphin 6.1.6

Anyway, the answer is - that both variants are correct, you can refer to current topic using both urls:

and

Ling, what did you do to change the code to point to the correct place for the group forum? Everyone on boonex who is having this problem wants to know. Thanks!

Alex,

I think her question (or problem) was not that simple. Many people are having problems with posting in the groups section of orca. There is something fishy going on. I personally am getting a 404 error page when I attempt to post a topic after creating a group. The url in the address bar is misleading as it assumes there is a /groups/orca/forum directory when in fact there is no /forum directory so a 404 error comes up (not to mention the .htm file is not created for the group in this /forum directory). Such as http://mysite.com/groups/orca/forum/testt-0.htm#action=goto&new_topic=testt <=== produces 404 error. When adding /#forum to http://www.mysite.com/groups/orca/#forum/testt-0.htm#action=goto&new_topic=testt it actually lands on a orca page but it does not have the option to post a topic. it merely lists the Orca :: Interactive Forum Script with Forums Index and a folder with Groups.

I know this is not the proper behaviour because I have been to a paid dolphin site which works properly.

I suppose that you have missed groups\orca\.htaccess file from distribution. Please check if it is there if it there please check if all rules mod_rewrite rules are working for you, on some servers additional configuration is may be needed.

Alex,

There is/was no /groups/orca/.htaccess file in the distribution that I downloaded. I have recently downloaded another copy of dolphin and it is not there either. Am I downloading the wrong dolphin distribution? It is the file which is presented on the main download page of this site. Can you direct me to the correct distribution or paste the .htaccess file here for orca? I have been looking everywhere for a solution with no answers. :(

Thanks!

Is there any easy solution for this problem. I use 7.0.9 and it is still not fixed?

#topics works but permalink doesn't contain the #

The solution:

Add this line on Forums .htaccess :

RewriteBase /forum/
