what does these mean ???

hi everyone.,

question 1 ...i am not very good on cron jobs. am not sure what do they do. i just set them up as per dolphin requirments in d6.1.6 and d7. could some one please explain in simple words what are they exactly used for ?

question 2 ...i get following emails every days (100s of them). are they all right ?? do i need all these cron jobs. or can i change timings. ???

* Could not open input file: /home/*****/public_html/d7/periodic/notifies.php     every 10 minutes.

* Could not open input file: /home/*****/public_html/d7/periodic/cupid.php        every hour.

* Could not open input file: /home/*****/public_html/d7/periodic/cmd.php          midnight evryday

* Fatal error: Call to undefined function  getconvertertmpl() in
/home/*****/public_html/v7/modules/boonex/data_migration/classes/BxDataMigrationVideos.php
on line 221

question 3. some of the cron jobs were set up when i first installed d6.1.4 but now i am on d7. do i still need all these cron jobs ??

There is only 1 cron job for D7 and this is periodic/cron.php.

If you no longer have a D6 version, you can delete the other cron jobs or else you will continue to get those emails.
