its next imposible to get videos running, this version is like for pros, also wheres the css editor on new page creation
its pretty frustrating also its impossible on godaddy the worlds number 1 host and domain place that you cant install properly modules without it redirecting wrongly unless your on primery domain/ i switched to the primary to install but srsly, how many days and hours till i just go to other script because this is not a friendly script, remember were not all rocket scientist
all said its a great script "if" it were not so impossible for the average joe not the script pro,
my advice is have a WAY better install explination cuz its driving me way away

Are you sure Godaddy has the necessary server requirements installed to run the software. Is Godaddy supporting the BoonX RMS server? or are you using additional hosting for the server. Your videos will not work with out the proper setup. If you can be more specific with your problems, maybe we have some answers! |
also if u have upgraded from RC5 u need ta go into your modules/Flash Apps/settings under admin panel
and re enter ifo plus make sure RMS is ticked

im not exactly sure, i know they do have java/tomcat enabled, dolphin 6 ran perfect except i couldent make video and game categories, thats why i was excited about 7
also i did not know i needed to install RMS its going to be tuff cuz godaddy fires once a day but i will try, but its killing me in flow to get my site running
i would buy a licence if they just made a 6 with better controll for video categories, this 7 i can tell is going to be difficult :( and im not going to pay for instalation cuz thats just going to be too expencize and i want to know my scripts
i will try install RMS tommorow but i dont even have propper chmod and hss is scarry for me, not to mention the java setup on my server is difficult to understand or just any java
maybe i will try on /folder cuz i want to continue working on my site, if it eventually works for me then i will switch, i think a really good tutorial will help greatly if its in complete and understandable estecially the RMS
my problems lay in the modules/RMS, the rest seems fine, but ive noticed many other scripts now require all these complicated video thingies, i just want a simple media player :)

i just got off the phone with godaddy, the main thing is yer account with them on a vps or dedicated server
those r the only servers that will allow this.

i wouldent count on that, those ph ppl, they just want to sell you more expencive stuff, im prety sure on their shared hosting meets the requirements, just not on their most basic package, i cant afford those more expencive servers anyway,
if that were the case id just set it up on my second pc and figure how to host myself, redirect domain to my pc and set up server, ive actually done that once and if they ever tell me i have too much traffic i must upgrade i will go that route, screw them host taking my profits ;)

I would count on this whether it's with Godaddy or any other host.
Requirement to install any Media Server:
1. Must have Root Access
2. Must have SSH Access via Root.
Do you see how that works? Without Root & SSH Access, which on a Shared Server you are not going to get, you will NOT be getting the things you need to install the RMS. This is not a Godaddy condition, this is a condition of for installing a Media Server period. You can only set one Media Server per server (now if you have 10 VPS Servers on one box then each VPS can have one, but those are hard partitioned) and your shared server will NOT do it.
Do yourself a favor. Google Media Server requirements and go take some time studying them before you attempt to do this on your shared server and waste your time. You'll see that Boonex, Godaddy and all the members here are NOT lying and are NOT trying to sell you something that you don't need. We're trying to save you some time before you really make a mess of things and end up getting kicked off your servers for not understanding what's going on. Yes, I've seen hosts cancel accounts for stunts like your trying to pull here (putting an RMS on a shared server).
Instead, find someone who has a D7 RMS and lease off of them. It'll save you alot of hassle and you'll be amazed how many things start to work again. Well, if you get rid of Godaddy they will.

first off i apreciate the advice and help, second i never called anyone here a liar or a hustler, i just want to make that clear and only have good things to say for the members and boonex, your all great
godaddy on other similar scripts has told me it cant be done while other tecknical ppl at godaddy have told me i can so that is why i say dont go be what the ph/desk ppl say at go daddy, some dont really know whats going on and some do, they are not tecknitions, you see it is i who is trying to help too :)
i might add i do have SSH access and i can i can execute jar files, i see nothing in the requirement to limit me except its maybe alot harder without vps, maybe though the root access is not deep enough, i dont know
im going to try to setup my second pc as a server eliminating any if not all restrictions, its time i stop bouncing around host just to find a new restriction,
i thank you all for the advice, best regards and wishes to all
