video upload, undefined error

Okay I've done some research and can't find my exact problem...

My host provider has been looking into the issue for several days and is also finding it difficult to resolve.... So I'm thinking its something to do with the installation itself!

The following doesn't mean much no me, but someone who understands the program better might be able to pinpoint my problem... thankyou to anyone willing to help!

I just tried to upload a video and failed again, please see details below:

File:                       PCSpeed.wma         35.5mb

Shared Hosting or VPS or Dedicated server ?.

how is your php.ini setings

memory_limit = ??..M
file_uploads = On
upload_max_filesize=??..M
post_max_size=??..M
expose_php = Off
max_execution_time = 660
max_input_time = 660
AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

mosts host do not support .exe to run on their servers

if your site is on a shared hosting.. a move to a dedicated or v.s.p server will save you some headache :)

I'm running on a Shared Host.

I've been told by my host that I don't need a php.ini file in the root directory, and only altering the .htaccess is necessary. This is the .htaccess file as they have changed it (although not working) cheers:

php_flag display_errors off
php_value memory_limit 100M
php_value upload_max_filesize 500M
php_value post_max_size 500M
php_value max_execution_time 60000000000
php_value max_input_time 60000000000
php_value output_buffering on
php_value session.gc_maxlifetime 1440000000

RewriteEngine On

# Turn off mod_security filtering.
#SecFilterEngine Off

# The below probably isn't needed,
# but better safe than sorry.
#SecFilterScanPOST Off

Yes my host supports ffmpeg

I just tried uploading an mpeg video, and it also failed. "Undefined Error" and the email about MySQL server has gone away error... As mentioned in my first post was recieved too.

Help appreciated!

if exe. was supported by your host than this wouldn't happen
Time to change host go with v.p.s or dedicated Wink

I've only been with this host a few days and they appear to offer it all... exe is definitely supported so I'll have to try reinstalling the dolphin software... Might find some success!

Cheers guys, I'll let you know of the outcome!

I couldn't resist doing some math on this

.

max_execution time is set for 1,902 years

.

max_input_time is set for 1,902 years

.

session.gc_maxlifetime  is set a little more conservatively at a mere 45.6 years

.

Someone at your hosting company actually entered these values!!??

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

One thing you might want to try is running a simple diagnostic.

Check out:

http://www.boonex.com/trac/ray/wiki/GenRayTShooter#IgetUploadingfileerrorwhenuploadingaudiovideofilesinRayMediaandVideoPlayers

Create a PHP file and run this to get some info:

<?php
echo "<br/><b>PHP INI settings</b><br/>";
echo "<br>safe mode = ".ini_get('safe_mode');
echo "<br>disabled functions = ".ini_get('disable_functions');
echo "<br>max execution time = ".ini_get('max_execution_time');
echo "<br>post_max_size = ".ini_get('post_max_size');
echo "<br>upload max filesize = ".ini_get('upload_max_filesize');
echo "<br/><br/><b>ffmpeg output</b><pre>";
$s = realpath("ray/modules/global/app/ffmpeg.exe");
echo `$s -version 2>&1`;
?>

Post the reply that you get. You can find out what you should get if you visit the Ray troubleshooter page. If you are not getting the expected results, that may lead us to more clues why your uploads are not working.

I guess my next question, have you tried a smaller file fize and a different file? It could be that the file you are trying to upload is messed or something funky going on with it.

...sip...

Updating my BoonexNerd.net site.

My hosting provider has changed the wait_timeout limit to 50 maximum, they are wondering if it needs to be higher? Any info would be great! thanks again

Cheers, here's the result of this script....

PHP INI settings

safe mode =
disabled functions = show_source, system, passthru, popen, proc_open
max execution time = 60000000000
post_max_size = 500M
upload max filesize = 500M

ffmpeg output

Yes I have tried different sized files.... files under 3mb appear to work normally, however my host has also tried uploading larger files and is unable to do so... They have other people running this sort of setup with no troubles... so it's quite a mystery! Cry
