i have been told by my techs that i must upgrade to php 5.3 or newer and that breaks dolphin 6.x so i am trying to run the upgrade scripts but i have 180,000 members and the "data migration" cron-based system built into dolphin 7.0 keeps stopping at 28,000... why?

max_execution_time is set to 3000 seconds memory_limit is set to 2GB i doubt it is timing out php timings... your server is most likely timing out. What are your php.ini settings?

3000 seconds is equal to 50 minutes which is more than enough time to complete 180,000 users... it just stops at 28,000 for no apparent reason |
it seems to work fine if i disable the cron job and execute cron.php in command line manually. weird |
