unknown sender on mass mailer

When I send out a Mass Mailer, it comes from unknown sender to all of my members and newsletters subscribers. How can I change this to default to the site admin address?

-

Would I uncheck the Anonymous mode (no contact information) in the Advanced Settings and if so, what else does this change?

Hi Lorren nice to see you again.

have you setup an email account in cpanel for the site and have you setup the mx records for it? also check the cron job page and see that an email account is entered and not just the account name

Thanks Sammie...

Yes an email account was set up at the domain, admin@mysite.com, which I have being forwarded to an AOL address.

-

The MX records show that mysite.com points to mysite.com and is set to always accept, except that the priority is zero, 0.

-

Also under the cron job, the email address is to the same AOL address that site email is forwarded to.

-

hmmm.

-

When I open the site email from my server....it shows that people have responded back the mass mailer directly to the admin@mysite.com email address.

My concern was is since my personal email is also on the member mass mailing list, I received emails from unknown sender with the email in text version. It looks like this:

Subject: WEATHER ALERT for BIG BEAR LAKE
Date: 02/13/09 5:00:26 P.M. Pacific Standard Time
From: UnknownSender@UnknownDomain
To: joe@aol.com

Hi there,

Check out the file header.inc.php in the "inc" directory. There's a line there with "$site['email_notify'] = xxx" where xxx is used as From: email address - maybe it's blank in your file??

Cheers

Anatoa

Also under the cron job, the email address is to the same AOL address that site email is forwarded to.

Set cron email to admin@mysite.com do it also on $site['email_notify'] in header.inc.php

check about it comes from unknown sender now..

Your mail to the following recipients could not be delivered because they are not accepting mail from UnknownSender@UnknownDomain:
