template css help

ok i bought a template from dolphintemplates.com and have yet to get a response from 2 emails asking for support. i've read the forums before and the community is obviously very knowledgeable about this.

problems are as follows (im stoopid when it comes to css in this regard)

<p> spacing is not right, it's all just </br> line breaks. headers in the WSYIGY editor are all black (black background, yea..) so cant see that, i have to set them white in the html. The background of the polls are white with light grey text... among other problems but these are the serious issues.

the template is dt_firestarter_red 7.1, a very sweet template, but bad css writing. i've already fixed the simple messenger background to be a black color, but cant seem to get the others. no idea where to look either.

i can pm my website url to show exactly what i'm talking about. the spacing in all my pages are all jacked because the <p> styling isnt correct, i have to use periods in line breaks to fix it for now.

any help is greatly appreciated since their support isnt what they claim on their site.

-Bobby

EDIT: i have a file repository installed on the site to give direct html access to the template css folder if that could help someone diagnose my problems. the repo is AjaXplorer, very common software to access site files. Would be read only, naturally...

I should also note that lists don't work properly either such as unordered. Not sure about ordered lists as I have yet to use it.

What are the time frame on the emails you sent asking for help; sometimes it does take some time for a developer to be able to answer.

Does the vendor have a support forum for the template?

the site was dophintemplates, and my initial support email was a few days after  purchased the template in jan, so it's been at least a couple weeks. i've been trying to sift through the css myself and i am lost in the jungle of code. no idea what to look for when trying to modify the style of <p> tags and <h1> tags. i can change simple background colors, the polls background i've searched for but have yet to find it.

for the simple messenger, i had to copy a template folder from a different module and modify it to suite the module i was applying it to, but i havent had luck on the polls module yet, which is fine because it can wait, my priorities are the h1 and paragraph spacing.

and no, they dont have a forum, only a live chat that i can never catch them online with, and email

one thing that i do - install firebug - or something like it - with that, you can actually change the code and css styles and see how they behave in realtime. Of course since you are not actually changing the file, the changes will only be seen by you and will reset if you change the page or refresh. But when dealing with css - i have found firebug for firefox to be a great tool.

Now that i am using linux mint, the standard firefox features are actually cooler than firebug (neat features such as 3d mode)

In the file: /templates/tmpl_dt_firestarter_red/images/dt/sl/css/reset.css

Line:2

Delete the text highlighted in red.  Clear /cache folder. Hard refresh browser.

body,div,dl,dt,dd,ul,ol,li,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6,pre,form,fieldset,input,textarea,p,blockquote,th,td {
