Why don't the sub-menus work any more? I place an item at the top on the navigation menu and items underneath and it won't make the sub-menus. before i upgraded I used to put a top menu item in, leave the url blank and place my sub menu items underneath that. Now that doesn't work. So I tried putting a link in the top item but that only directs to the links and doesn't show the submenu items in that new thing underneath that i assume is the new submenu, on the breadcrumbs bar. SO how do i set up my menu items to make submenu on that breadcrumb bar.
But even that is annoying because, like i want a help menu, with about , faq, advice, toc ect underneath but I have to put a url into the top item that links to help.php so someone can actually see the submenu items other wise it won't work. That means the members are directed to an empty page that looks dumb until they realise that the submenu is on the bread crumb bar! What the fuq was wrong with a normal sub menu? why all this confusing stuff?
and, how do i fix it?

I know it might sound like i am ranting a bit, but now i can't even have my 'about you' menu items, where I have profile, info, account, my groups,my friends ect under one menu item after home item. Surely there is a way to make submenu items |
This is my top item with submenu bits
See? I can't make the sub menu appear. SO how do I do it?

Sub menus do not exist on the new evo template. They will show up on the UNI and the ALT templates, but EVO has been designed for mobile use. Mobile does not have a mouse hover. So menus have been designed differently on that template. There is no hover over dropdown menu. https://www.deanbassett.com |
ok I get that, but how do i make the breadcrumb menu then, like this one for help?
I want to be able to make my own menu items. It doesn't make sense that i can't make my own menu items

hold on, isn't that thing a submenu pretending not to be a submenu? Its doing exactly the same thing as a sub menu only its on the breadcrumb bar. How is it any different? |

You have to click it to open it. The normal sub menus open automatically on hover. Mobile does not support that. So not exacly the same.
But it makes no difference. The EVO design does not have them. And boonex will not change that. So either you get used to it, or you switch to a template that has them like the UNI template, or you hire someone to add them to EVO.

Voni, I needed a sub-menu for added pages on my index. I think this might help you get one.

hey super hero to the rescue, how you doing these days?
I saw your post originally when I was looking for the answer to this, but I think that solution might put a breadcrumb straight across the home page too which I don't want. I think I need to make some kind of php page and add it to languages to make independent menu thingy.
I think the menu on the breadcrumb bar should be forever called a thingy
|
having said that, its going to be hard cuase I can't even find out how to edit the language file for about us,
_ABOUT_US_H (System) Edit
are the only things that pop up when I search for 'about' and non of them are the about page that has
YES! It is a complete mystery to me!

YES! It is a complete mystery to me!
Just search language for 'mystery'
Regarding sub menus. The EVO template shows the sub menu in a popup. Is the template you are using derived form the EVO template? ... or did you just modify the evo template?
I'm confused, because although the evo template displays the sub menu in a popup, it IS displayed. It should also be displayed for pages you create and add as sub menu items in nav builder.

That post is only relevant to displaying the sub menu on the index page. By default, the sub menu is suppressed on index and join pages. The code modification suggested by AlexT changes the default behavior to only suppressing the sub menu on the join page. Voni's problem is something else.
