subcatagories

I have been trying in vein to add some ad's to my site, its all fine if i use the provided catagories that simply dont apply to our purpose at all, but when i add a new cataorie that seems to work fine except i cannot place an add still as it demands me to ad a sub catagory wich would be fine also, if it just let me do it!  I am getting Very frustrated and i NEED TO GET SOME ads up properly BEFORE July 10th at 7:42 P.M.  this is our drop dead opening to the public schedule.   ANYONE THAT can simply give me some help maybe a step by step process to follow to make this functional please do! Yes i have tried to download the manuals etc, but that part of THIS site isnt working at the moment, appearantly

p.s. again it all seems to come to hault in the sub-category portion of the show.  i need to advertise FREE things, and Concert Tickets etc

Let's see if we can get you up and running - or at least let's get your ad system going!

As I understand your problem, you're having difficulty posting ads in the Ads module into custom sub-categories you select from the drop-down menu. One of the first things to remember is that if you just created the sub-category, it may take a minute or two for the cron job to process all the waiting tasks, including any video, audio, photo, or other files up-loaded since the last cron job was run. If your site is a fairly busy one with a lot of photos and video flying around, it could take some time even for ads to post.

Also, if I remember correctly, the classified ad system is dependent on the Orca Forum system being installed. You should be able to see if it is by logging in as Administrator and checking the installation of the Flash Modules from the menu on the left.

If you're talking about the banner and text ads that are placed on every page of your community site, that's a different thing altogether!

There is a mod (Free) for this, you need to search the forums. Unfortunately I don't have it to give you.
