stealth apache veiwers? how do i get around this?

i watch my firewall. and get a lot of 0 byte ips trying to access apache..

i assume they are running in stealth more..

is there a setting i can set to allow them to view the website?

wether it's apache/php

any help would be greatly appreciated. shame to let them go without seeing the site as they do not send any information at all.

version 2.2.15 apache

i see people log onto apache with 0 byes recieved.

apache just sits there and does not display the website.

it might be php.ini also.

one or the other.

but 0 bytes recieved i assume is stealth mode

and no one is getting to the website

I really need help with this one..

the firewall says 0 bytes recieved.. but the users are hooked up to apache.

this may be a setting in php.ini stopping stealth users from accessing the website

they hook up find to apache server.

but they do not seem to be activating php-cgi.exe so the stealth users can not view the website.

or it may be a problem with httpd.config in either case i have somewhere the wrong settings for stealth users.

this has to be fixed. i need help

It could just be a port scan. IE. People like hackers scanning ports in a ip range looking for ports that are open. Could be other things as well. I would just ignore it. If no bytes, then its most likely just a scan or a ping on port 80 which is the port apache listens on. No real actual visits with a web browser. In other words, nothing you should be loosing any sleep over as these are most likely not what you think they are. I am guessing your under the impression that these are actual human visits to your site when most likely they are not.

But seriously, the firewall is well beyond the scope of dolphin and is more suited as a question to be answered by your host.

looks good on your resume.. all of you were completely wrong.

it;'s a config errors inside apache that stops php-cgi from running

i know i tested it with two friends in stealth mode.

anything NOT sending any bytes to apache does not get processed.

apache runs and ackowledges the ip but does nothing,.

I need this fixed as soon as possible

It's not a webmaster you're looking for to fix apache problems. It's a server administrator you need which most of us are not.

But per your statement. anything NOT sending any bytes to apache does not get processed.

I don't see the point of having apache process anything NOT sending any bytes. No bytes means nothing to process. So i still do not see a problem.

people log on.. 0 bytes are recieved and they can not access the website...

php refuses to run

apache runs and acknowledges the ip but does nothing other than that.

there has to be a fix or facebook.com would be out of business

You're asking web server questions in a discussion forum for a PHP script. I hope you see the problem with this, because everyone else does.

You're absolutely right. No one here has any idea concerning what it is you're talking about. We're just lowly, uneducated rural farmers who just make it by with our sites. You should go ask the overly technical questions such as this to a community of server administrators, not webmasters.

I'm sorry we couldn't help you and hope you will forgive us low, pitiful creatures.

Dude!  Nice flaming logo!  I have seen a flaming logo since the mid 90's

Seriously though, why don't you pose the question to your site' members?  With over 154,000 members, surely one or two of them are server administrators.  With almost 40,000 of your members online, you'll probably get an answer in no time at all

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.
