special bloc modification

hello,

I need to modify the special block on the 1st page - the  QUICK SEARCH block !

I need to have a simple QUICK SEARCH without the age range showing

because it is not a sex site nor a dating site.

I want a vistor to be able to search within various groups or sections of the site ( such as players, AAA Players,AA players, coaches, clubs, teams, etc )...

Can anyone help me out with some pointers, where whould I start first in this modification process...to make something like that possible ... ???.. ..

PS. I also wish to know how to modified the couple registration portion section ( in place of "couple", i wish to provide the possibility for a group such as a "club", or a "team" to register with different information field demanded ! ... )

What is the complexity of such a project ...

To edit any block function at index page, you should edit

templates\base\scripts\BxBaseIndex.php

function getBlockCode_QuickSearch()

you can modify this as you want
