small error of characters

After installation I receive this error when trying to display the profile?

Illegal mix of collations (utf8_general_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '='

Does anybody know what this means and how to resolve it? It looks to me like an issue around the unicode characters but that is just a complete guess.
