rss feeds Hosting or Dolphin 7 issue

Im using Dolphin 7.0.  I had rss feeds  working when i was on a "Basic" shared hosting service.  I have now moved to a VPS service.  Now the Google and yahoo news feeds are not working.   Since i moved to the VPS service I have add a twitter feed it is working fine.  My Hosting Company (that is one of the recomend providers) has check things out and cant find anything wrong.  They asked if they need to set some settings a certain way and if there is any help Bonnex can provide.  Is this a port issue??

Here is a sample my feeds.  all feeds use the rss mod

 This one works - Twitter

These don’t  - google (these where on my old shared site and worked fine in the shared hosting site).  I also tried yahoo on new VPS site (but never tested it on old site).

Try to check if outgoing connections are allowed on your server. You can try to login via SSH and run such commands like:

lynx http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&csid=b1d38f55db8b22ea&output=rss

links http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&csid=b1d38f55db8b22ea&output=rss

wget http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&csid=b1d38f55db8b22ea&output=rss

if it works then it should work in Dolphin too, if it doesn't then you need to contact your hosting support and ask them to allow outgoing connections to these sites.

Please note, I suppose that you server met requirements, like allow_url_fopen php setting on

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
