rookie question

I'm setting up my first Dolphin site. Trying to add members for testing. When they click to enroll it say invitation only. I don't even know where to invite anyone. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Log out of your admin panel, clear your browser cookies and cache then join as if you were a prospective member coming of the street. I have multiple email addresses just for this purpose, to set up test members.Wink

Thanks but I tried that. It say Membership by Invitation only. I can't find where to shut that off.

I love this answer.... I'm going to have to add that one to my list of things that should be memorialized here on Unity...

Now, you can try that Opie and get what you discovered, not a single thing changes.  And we will allow Kaution to continue to clear this problem his way... But you can have access to the top secret trick to correct this little issue.  Just don't tell Kaution we gave it to you, we're going to charge him for it later.

Login to your admin panel, go to Settings -> Advanced Settings

Now, at the bottom of the third grouping you will see this:

Registration by invitation only (need before Enable affiliate support)

And there will be a little checkmark by it, just remove the check mark and then click save at the bottom of the page.  Now, your going to see "2" save buttons, you want the top save button.  Don't tell Kaution that either, we're going to  charge extra for that secret too!

No problem Kaution, I was just having fun at the expense of your post.  Don't take it personal and please, keep trying to post and help out.  Dolphin really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it, it just takes a little time and practice... That's all!

I have the "Invitation Only" checked because my site has been getting a lot of fake sign-ups who spam other members.  My question is; How Do I Invite A New Member?  Currently, the invite link just takes the user to the Join.php which states "By Invitation Only" message.

Try inviting yourself with one of your email addresses and see what happens.   I don't believe there is any "join" page at all on invite only sites, but the link in the invite email should go to an active join page.

I'm also having a problem with the Invite only option. I can send out invites to my other email addresses and I get a link : http://mysite.com/?idFriend=2 But when one clicks on the join link after following the link in email I get the "REGISTRATION BY INVITATION ONLY" page. Is there a fix?
