removing ads and boonex News

Hi Folks- great package by the way!  congrats.  I just purchased a one year license to progressively build a group literary site. A couple of question: how do I remove reference to Boonex (including that front page news) and a reference to dating site with mention of sex preference and all? I suspect it's a template focus but given Boonex had the option of purchasing the ad-free version, there's gotta be another trick.

Many thanks

Arezki

the boonex news is an RSS feed that can be removed by going to your admin section, builders, page builders, homepage, and you will see there are "items" that are active. find the Boonex News "item" and drag it down to inactive.

as for the reference to sex, that is a customization of the script, it is programmed in and not template based. the licenses afford you not having "ads" placed across your site with whatever random adverts boonex or rayz wants to run.

those fields are in builders, field builders. i would be very careful here messing around, as just one slight of the hand can take the site down, if you are not familiar with what you are changing.

one word of advice BACKUP

do not do anything to your site without having a full and complete backup. otherwise you will become disgrunteled just as so many others have. this application is cutting edge technology, and is not for the faint at heart.

if you need further information regarding mods and customization just hit me up on here.

Thank you so much for the fast reply. I followed your directions as follows: admin / builders, page builders, homepage tab (up top).  But what I see are frames that are empty, giving the option to expand blocks, build new blocks... but no content listing within it. Any further hints would be greatly appreciated.

Arezki

Thank you again... Just as u were posting your feedback, I switched from MS Explorer to Firefox. Explorer showed just the frame with no content, Firefox listed the components of the frames- works great.

Thanks for your help!

Does anyone else have a functioning suggestion for removing the "Boonex News feed" ?????  - Please help!

Nope guys he's right...  I tried following your suggested file path to remove Boonex news as well... and I too am having the same problem!

I am POSITIVE I have followed the right file path, although my file path is different from what you posted.

Mine is as follows:  Admin Home / Builders / Menu Builder

There is NO "Page" builder file path!!!!

Now once I am in the Menu Builder...  i do see a "Home Page" tab.  However, there is absolutely NOTHING underneath it... NOTHING!!!!!   Also... there is an "Active" box, but there is NOT an Inactive box anyway within a million mile radius!  The option does NOT exist!

So, does anyone else have a functioning suggestion for removing the "Boonex News feed" ?????  - Please help!

Hello

Please stay calm

You went to the wrong page

The right page is builders/pages blocks

Select from the drop down "homepage" drag and drop the boonex new tab in the inactive blocks

That's all

If you want to take the wording literally. Than there is no "Menu Builder" either.

Perhaps these images will help.

This is what I did, I remove the Boonex News down to the section Inactive Blocks >

Then I select RSS Feed and place it where the Boonex News was,

I rename to News, when to yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/sitemap/ and copy any address from the RSS Feed Icons, and copy to the new block, Number of RSS items set to 3 or else.

you have to click on the name to open it, now I have my Feeds News from other source, works with any RSS Feeds
