reInstallation Help Needed from community or Gurus

HI Friends. a very strong request to help please.
Due to incompetent hosting company( dont want to mention name for now) i am in big  problem

they shifted their servers and 2 of my sites running the Dolphin went messed up. they tried to give best of their help but couldnt relocate all the things as these used to be.
problems listed under were experience
1) existing all acounts including Admin (master admin)  fails to log in. and then any other  design issues.
when tried to make a new account from front end this gets error but in fact creates an account and send mail as well but that account only work as long its session is not expired or its not logged out. once its logged out cannot re log in.

Luckily i have few days older back up on my computer. hosting company tried to use that back up but no success

Help i want is   is there a way i can use all my data(setting, file folders and data bases)  on a new installation? how can i do that?

eagerly waiting for any feed which may lead to a solution.

The basic idea is you should be able to use your backup in order to have it all repaired!

The procedure is, restore all files and folders from the backup then restore the Database backup. The first can be done through cpanel and the second through php myAdmin.

In case you have dolphin 7 then you should be able to firstly do a fresh installation of dolphin and then restore your database backup through the backup module in the admin section.

For further help we need to know what version of dolphin you have!

Cheers,

NickL

its D7 ydrargyros

i know that process by simply  restore the back up folder on server via ftp and then mapping the data base. but that wont help much on a stage this makes trouble with the  login of members . means non of the existing members can log in. even if they request pass word recovery , the system send them mail but the info sent in recovery mail doesn't work either.Frown

what i want to know is if i do a fresh install  then what folders are the traget to restore  in order get my all setting, file and folders back?

Since we aren't sure let's take a step a time,

firstly do a fresh installation and then restore the database, your users should work after that.

If you haven't heavilly modded your site then all you will need are the "data" folders of the modules!

Should work!

ydrargyros Here i  am stuck, i exactly dont know which folders are to be  copied. please help here little further.

It depends of what you had for installed modules, and what ones contained data at the time of the problem. The common ones are, and make sure all of those folders remain writable when your done.

modules/boonex/photos/data/files

modules/boonex/avatar/data/images

flash/modules/mp3/files

flash/modules/video/files

Each server at your company may not be exactly identical.  Different PHP verions, MySQL versions, configurations, modules installed or not installed, etc.  Your site may have worked great on one server, but if the one they moved your site to is not configured for Dolphin or is different in any way from the previous server, then you may encounter issues.  I am behind a firewall right now so I can't see your site, but that is one thing to think about.  It seems the latest version of PHP (I think 5.3.2) has issues with magic_quotes and Dolphin, where as 5.2.13 works flawlessly with Dolphin, on my server anyways.

update here for other who may take help from this post.
i was able to solve it by just restoring the cache and public_cache folders, actually before doing that my admin side used to look totally displaced with the design.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
