php module: oauth

hi i think i am missing the php module: oauth on my server in the dashbord server audit i get the following message:

  • php module: oauth - WARNING(should be module oauth)

i have contacted my host but becuase i only use my site for family i am on a shared hosting and they do not want to install it

i got the following awnser :

I reproduced the warning and checked the available modules using this PHP Info file: ********

As the mentioned module is not included in the default setup of the current shared hosting machine I can offer you the following solutions:

1) Upgrade your account to one of our Cloud Servers. On these dedicated solutions we can install the module

or

2) Contact a skilled developer and ask if that module is indeed required or this is just a recommendation. .

as upgrading is no option can you tell me if it is required or if i do need to open another ticket because i was promissed

dolphin present and future build would be fully supported.

Kind Regards

The module is required for automatic updates from Boonex for the core of Dolphin U & also for automated access to the Extensions. Without it you will need to do everything manually. At present, whilst members are able to test Dolphin U it is possible to manually update the files but whether that will remain once the official release date arrives remains to be seen. Maybe one of the Developers can confirm that will still be the case. There is no other requirement for this php module to be necessary at present, again whether that remains to be the case we shall see.

It's not a dolphin module, so no, you don't install it from dolphin. The oauth module or php extension is a new server requirement for Dolphin U that the older versions of dolphin don't require.

That on the server end. It's a PHP module/extension. Some versions of cpanel allow you to change the php modules and may have that available. If not you may need to contact your host and have them do it.

How to tell? Easy. If dolphin says it's not available, then it's not.

As i mentioned. Sometimes cpanel will have the ability to enable and disable php extensions under the php settings in cpanel. If yours does not then contact the host.

No. the install of oauth will not affect your dolphin 7 site.

Yes. You can run DU in a sub folder.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
