paypal and user activation?

1. Ok i created a $1.00 checkout price to test taking credit cards just to see if i had everything correct. Paypal did take the $1.00 payment and didnt upgrade my account to the name i gave it.

Come to find out (just now), that account payment goes to "PENDING ORDERS" and  i have to manually process them. How can this be done automatically so once the customer orders his subscription, and I am away from my puter (cant be here 24/7) their membership, goes right into effect without me or admin

2. Profiles are acting the same way. i must activate them before a user is able to do anything. How can this be set to auto

I had the same problem (read the fascinating tale here).

Long story short, no matter what the Payment Module Documentation here tells you, PDT settings won't work for automatically updating membership levels. It will just dump everything into a pending status.

Enable IPN in the paypal settings and clear your cache and you should be fine. You will have to manually process any orders made before this change, however.
