from what i can see it seems to be telling you

that you dont have enough privaligies to (/usr/local/bin/php

hmm

has php been compiled to support arabic language and is your server support the language as welll

Is this actually a dedicated server or a dedicated virtual.

These open_basedir restrictions i have only seen on virtual servers. This would not be happening on a real server. Or at least it shouldn't

hi all

my friend has the Dedicated server , and he opened an hosting account for me on his server, and he is an expert in dolphin scripts , but we still puzzled what to do ,

he says he set all the paths as should be ,

any advice how we can over come this issue ,

how we can compile the server to support arabic , and how can we have the server to have by default all the dolphin settings

i swear , i had 5 new grey hairs this week from this issue :(

Aparently he is not an expert, and you did not answer my question. Is this a real server, or a Virtual server?

Before you can deal with the language issues, you need to deal with the open_basedir problems.

These errors are occuring on install becuse dolphin is running tests to make sure the server has what it needs. Dolphin is searching using the file_exist function to find where php is, imagemagick, ect.

However the open_basedir setting in the php.ini file is preventing dolphin from doing that. You need to have him solve that first.

If it were my server i would solve that by setting open_basedir to none.

comment out the open_basedir by placing a ; in from of the line in the php.ini file.

Apache will need to be restarted after those changes are made.

Then try to install dolphin again. That should fix all those errors caused by the open_basedir restrictions.

your admin friend has not set up your permissions correctly. he can try assigning you to the same group as apache ie. 500 and then ensuring the php files and directories are also grp 500

you are making life difficult by installing into /home/..../public_html/ i advise the simpler way of setting up apache virtualhost containers for each domain on the IP then assign a unique directory in /var/www for each domain. if your friend is worried about your access permissions he can chroot your ftp to your /var/www/webroot

also check your db collation is either utf8_bin utf8_unicode or language specifc collation for arabic, the mysql default is swedish/latin

if you dont understand this advice then show it to your admin and he will know what to do

thank you for your advice ,

and you think the language prob will be solved as well , ?

i compared the php.ini in the server to the php.ini of my old shared hosting and i saw the following

in the new server : arabic language characters not showing in all placed in dolphin and ray ,

SQLite

SQLite supportenabled
PECL Module version 2.0-dev $Id: sqlite.c,v 1.166.2.13.2.11 2008/12/01 12:28:27 felipe Exp $
SQLite Library 2.8.17
SQLite Encoding iso8859

in the shared hosting , ( arabic language was showing in full through out dolphin and ray , and youtube mod )

SQLite

SQLite supportenabled
PECL Module version 2.0-dev $Id: sqlite.c,v 1.166.2.13.2.12 2008/12/31 11:17:44 sebastian Exp $
SQLite Library 2.8.17
SQLite Encoding UTF-8

from my limited knowledge i know all my PHP file containing arabic , i make them utf8 , and on the database , MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8) .

can this be the cause of the arabic not showing ?

The change to the php.ini file is only intended to correct the errors during the install. It will not correct the language problem.

But yes, the difference in the sql encoding may be the cause.

In any case i do not believe the language issue is a problem with dolphin. I think you are on the right track with that one. It has something to do with the database. The export procedure, import procedure, database encoding, ect.
