Has anyone here ever deployed this?  http://owncloud.org/

I need to set up document sharing-editing-collaboration for a group of  people, and I'm eying this up.  Just curious if anyone has any good or bad impressions of the platform.

I tried on my last server using the auto installer and it crashed my ish. Have not had a chance to try again.

roflmfaop - I was trying not to use profanity - but "It crashed my shit (server)". It may have been because I used the auto installer though, Like I said, I have not had a chance to get back to messing with it.

 I use it for all my storage! Love it.

Demo account setup for testing if interested, PM for credentials.

 I like the sharing features, allows many options.

Yes, and this is one of the best features for me, the sharing with people and putting passwords and/or expire date/times.

Thanks.  I was under the impression that the latest version was able to work on MS word documents, or at least view them.

 There is a setting for that in the admin..

I don't think that account is set for that, give me a couple of minutes to re read that portion.

This is what the setting section shows for that.

[edit] I never paid that any attention as I just use the files, mp3, and videos section.

I also use it for me and my friends&familie, really good piece of software!

Yes, i have been using it for some time now and offer it to my hosting clients for off site storage/backups.  

Everyone seems to like it and the windows app for it isn't half bad either.

The only thing i don't like is how often it sync's from desktop to the web and seems to over write the files no matter if they are changed in any way or not. 

 That's my main usage as well.
