open streetmap instead of google maps?

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use Open streetmap for location and World Map instead of the Google Maps API. I'm told that Google charges a lot of money if your site does do more than a certain number of requestes. Looking for a cheaper alternative.

Open streetmap comes with an API and a such could place locations in World Map, granted it's apparently a different process that Google (FYI: I've never worked with Open streetmap but I am familiar with API usage). It would require a custom mod in much the same way Google Maps API is integrated into Dolphin.
