It looks like previous upgrade wasn't successfully completed. You can see the versions difference in inc/version.inc.php file and in the database: 'sys_modules' table, 'version' field for 'system' module.

Did you get any errors by email from the previous upgrade ?

If I try to install 8.0.0-RC nothing happen I'm stuck in /install/index.php?action=site_config and don't get any error message like I do when I install the DEV17 but the DEV17 install goes well

I did also try

but stuck at /install/index.php?action=site_config

I'm getting crazy here.

since I don't know how many hours I try to install Trident released 2015.12.18 and I don't get further as /install/index.php?action=site_config  and I do everything according to online.me Install directions.

The only Trident version I can install is the 8.0.0-DEV17 and this I can not upgrade please help :-)

hi, i got this problem . but tmd hosting guys fix that ..and i never asked how ..

i guess they used patch or something ..

Quote · 29 Mar 2016

if I know from where to start then I'm happy. It feels strange and my brain is burning now cos trident DEV17 is working nicely and any other Trident I try to install simply gives me just the.

I only get to the Site Configuration and click on save and the page reloads and that's it. I can click it a million times and I don't even get an error_log on that it just reloads.

which is

but what I really don't understand why I can not install Trident released 2015.12.18 and this is actually my bigest question now cos then I wouldn't have this issue :-)

Hello everyone, sorry to make this post, but it's the closest forum that i was able to find in which is somewhat related to my issue. If i follow this instructions(Studio > Dashboard > Version) which was provided to me as i attempted to perform upgrades to all mods. My current versions is: Version: 8.0.1 Installed: 24 May 2016. Was hoping i could upgrade, but if i follow above instruction, i don't see any "upgrade option" Any advise ?

You might have overlooked this process.

Since this is a Beta version your current site should stay intact. You would need to "force upgrade" to try the Beta version (later it will be upgraded to Beta 2, RC and finally Release).

To do it, you need to change the following line in inc/classes/BxDolUpgrader.php file:

protected $_sUrlVersionCheck = 'http://rss.boonex.com/trident/';

to:

protected $_sUrlVersionCheck = 'http://rss.boonex.com/trident-beta/';

Before upgrading to Beta version, go to Apps > Storefront and login to your Boonex account, where Key&Secret pair is stored.

Then go to Apps > Purchases.

This is needed to properly update paid modules.

Hey newton, thanks bro! I'm going to do a fresh install with the latest version. Once it's complete, i will test everything and see what happens. Hopefully it will all work. Thanks again!

He mentioned in another thread that his admin account to Trident had disappeared.  He said it was a new site without members so I asked about just starting over with a fresh install since it now requires repairing.

It seems if your backup was done, you may have had this checked in the "Settings" "SITE SETTINGS"

Force site and module auto-update, even if some files were modified

I think that is causing you some problems. It may have downloaded files right after the restore. Not really sure.

Is it a live site?

setting app in studio was giving error code 500 ..i mention in previous post..because of this i was not able to do force update ..

but when i update my site from 8.0.1 to version 9 ..that time force update was checked.

also other apps like oauth , acl these apps were not working too.. when i clicked on these apps i was getting blank page ..

also in homepage ..menu bar , header was not showing ..i suspect because of protean template ..but again since i cant access setting app ..i was not able to select protean template there..

right now we roll back to version 8.0.1 again..now its ok ..

yes my site is live ..but i can try to update again .. but i don't know how to fix that issue ..

You have cronjobs installed incorrecly (this is the reason you waited so long for the update):

set it to the following instead:

After system upgrade, there is modules upgrade which should happen within a minute, in your case it will happen after 20 minutes. All the time between system upgrade and modules upgrade site isn't working - it's described here:

Yes, your correct on that AlexT. I changed that for him and also tried the upgrade.

TMDhosing shared account and it sent the resources up so they locked the site today during the upgrade.

I think the upgrade still would not have worked as the server is not configured correct.

I ask them to look at their error logs showing the problems.

php module: fileinfo - FAIL (must be module fileinfo)

 that is an issue.

Now you say TMDhosting downgraded your php from 5.4 to 5.3 and that won't work with Trident.

below output from server audit .

PHP:

version = 5.3.29 - WARNING (your version is outdated, upgrade to the latest 5.6.24 maybe required)

You asked for my opinion and to login and suggest how to fix..

YOU NEED TO RUN AWAY FROM TMDHOSTING NOW!

thanks a lot newton for fixing my fileinfo error..

but now setting app is not opening m getting this error ..any idea how to fix ..

and homepage is giving this error ..

The site cannot be fixed in the condition it is in.

Unfortunately when backups were done the site was in mid upgrade process and the "fileinfo" module was missing from your server setup; this explains all the errors.

I looked over files and some were updated, the most important update was the protean template and core files.

I tried all attempts to get the modules repaired. When you seen some say "8%" changed, that is because some files were updated to the current ones. The most important core files and scripts were never updated.

All that also leads back to the "fileinfo" module not enabled on your server, that caused the update to fail.

I set "fileinfo" on and updated the php to most current via your cPanel.

Right now, the error is crazy to understand.

I did find this for your cron error, you don't have an email setup so I had to find this.

PHP Warning: file_put_contents(/home/******/public_html/.bx_maintenance): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/******/public_html/tmp/patch_8.0.1_9.0.0-B1/Trident-Patch-v.8.0.1-to-v.9.0.0.B1/classes/BxDolUpgradeController.php on line 60

Also, if you look at line above, your directory structure is strange.

Trident is making a folder "public_html" so you see another folder..   /public_html/public_html the latter folder having permissions set at 740.

So looking at your directory, it's very confusing with all the "old public_html" folders also.

You need to clean up the directory. I think I will bow out on this one until TMD gets the directory right.
