move site from sub-directory to root.

hi,

 

my site is in a sub-directory at the moment (http://www.*****.com/test7/)

 

i wish to transfer my site with all the content and members to the root directory (http://www.*****.com)

 

how can i do this ?? please explain.

inc/header.inc.php holds the site url information. Clear the Cache before making the change or you will get permissions errors and will have to clear them manually.

 

The problem you will run into are with uploaded files which may have to be corrected manually to the updated url. Either by editing them within the Admin Panel or by editing them within PHPMysql

Hi Sydeburnz,  Member Kosmic came up with a technique where he wouldn't have to upload anything - just make changes to the .htaccess file.  I've never tried it, but it is at this link:
