mbstring warning when mbstring ext is present

Hello,

I am brand spanking new to this platform. I have inherited a project that uses Dolphin and the site was recently moved to a new host. The follow message appears when accessing the site "mbstring extension not installed. Warning! Dolphin cannot work without mbstring extension."  mbstring extension is installed but Dolphin is not recognizing it.  The hosting company tech support followed the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide without any success and suggested that I contact Dolphin support for further help.  They seem to think it is an "error with the code that is trying to call the mbstring extension".  I thought I would start here.  The website is tpcmembers.com

I see theres an old forum post regarding this. You could start there unless someone else responds with better info.

Hopefully it's as simple as what was discussed there -->

Just found out something interesting, but still does not help with my problem.

In some off the php scripts, the person how wrote these php scripts, used the short version of the open tag

(ie. <? instead of <?php).

This would cause a problem if the php.ini file did not have the short tag set to On.

Also, if you're running an older version of Boonex Dolphin. I'd strongly recommend updating it regardless.

Good luck, it's an amazing social platform with huge flexibility and expandability.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
