male and female icons missing from members list on

male and female icons are missing from member search list.. i suppose the pictures will do but what if she looks like a guy and he looks like a girl.. better to put them back onto d7.1 although the zodiac icons are working fine

You can choose what to show near nickname across the site from:

admin panel -> settings -> advanced settings -> profiles -> Member brief info 

There is an option to show sex/age as well

oh good that was easy.. it also worked for the chat problem of showing the headline instead.. good job.
