jron jobs setup without cPanel

Like in the topic, I don't have cPanel, and I have no idea how to set the cron jobs to make my mass mailer work ..

My hosting provider gives me some tips how to do that, but when I try to follow those tips - it doesn't work.

The tip is to:

create a php file in a root dorectory, and name it like cron-5min.php - the script inside the file should work every 5 minutes (it is a minimum time period).

Maybe someone has a n idea what should I do and what to put in the file to make this work?

from ssh run the command    crontab -e    and this will open your  cron job file.

Thank you for your answer, but could you be more explicit? I'm not a pro.. yet :)

First you will need a good SSH client. I would recommend "putty". After you install putty on your home computer you can connect via ssh to the server and run the "crontab -e" command that Jay suggested.
