ip adress on registration

i want the IP-adress when a user register. which file do i have to modify?

Why do you want the ip? What are you going to do with it, and exactally where do you want it?

Just wondering what the purposes is. Because some of this is available as mods for a fee while others not. Ip logging can be good but is still limited to what you can do with it. Depends on your needs or what you are after I guess.

but what i wanted to add ist a code like:

$ip = getenv("REMOTE_ADDR");
echo $ip;

and paste it in the file, where the registration is send to me. so i will receive an email with:

XXX has registered with user name XXX and his ip was XXX

now i will modify it that it will send the ip via email
