I'm building a relatively small site, with membership by invitation only, and assuming that everyone will be friends. I've noticed that inviting friends actually means two different things:
1) sending an email with a link that allows others to join the site,
2) befriending another member who already has a profile on the site.
On the Contacts page, members can see "invited/invited by" blocks which work by the second definition and show pending friends. Where should I look to change it to the first definition; i.e. if a member invites someone to join, and that person joins, it shows up on the first member's Contacts page (or better yet, on their profile)? Maybe I can use the affiliate capabilities?
Okay, I know I have to go dig into this now. Sometimes writing out the question is half the battle for me. Any suggestions are welcome.
