invitation module

I have tried several times to test/confirm if the invitation module on trident works and had no success. Has anyone encountered the same?

It works, we are using it on several sites already. Please specify your problem in more details ?

 There really is no error message or any indication that will allow me to post here for you AlexT. The only thing i can specify is that the recipient does not receive any emails. I tried many different email providers and nothing is sent.

same thing with Dolphin pro, I set my site to enable Invitation Only and I tried a few times to invite my friends but no email sent.

It maybe that the message is going to spam folder. It may happen if local mail server isn't properly configured, or you've set sender email to different domain than your site domain. I would suggest to install and configure SMTP Mailer module and use real email as sender's email which is registered on your site and match your site domain.
