increase promo banner quality?

Hi there,

Is it possible to increase the quality of the promo banners on the homepage? I have  uploaded my banners, but they appear very compressed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes, you can increase the quality of the promo banners, it's not even difficult to do.

First, determine what the width of your banner is and set the column width of the home page equal to the width of the banner your uploading via the admin=>builders=>page builders (Just slide the little slider from left to right or right to left as you need it.

Next, navigate to your sites home page via Firefox using Firebug and right click in the promo section and tell it to inspect, on your screen, at the bottom, on the right, you will see a listing of css conditions, go play with them until you get the box height set where you want it to give you your quality in an uncompressed manner.

Enjoy

What?  You guys didn't think I'd actually be nice and tell them the exact file & line number did you?

Thanks, but it is not the actual size - it is the quality of the image - I have saved it as a JPEG at maximum quality and uploaded it. When I view the live site, it is heavily compressed - blurry etc. I guess there is some javascript or php compressing the images?

That shouldn't be an issue.  I've uploaded some extremely detailed/large images into both my logo section and my promo banner section and never had an issue with it compressing the image and making it blurry.  In fact, I've dealt with the opposite issue when the issue was to small and it tried to blow it up.

I have tried uploading again in both jpeg and png and they are both getting compressed alot. Is there a setting in the code somewhere that I can change?

Thanks.
