image upload from home machine?

D7.3.4

Why is it not possible to upload an image to an HTML block or RSS block straight from your home machine?

The current system seems far too complicated and quite beyond my limited capabilities, just ending up with empty boxes.

I need to add images and place links to other sites on click.

For the moment i have reverted to text only and added the link to the text.

Very frustrated

can anyone please help?

Ed

It's to do with a security issue with Tinymce. It's been around for years. Somewhere @Geekgirl said it can be fixed, but she never said how. Instructions are always helpful because not everyone is a geek.

I did it on my own web page, but I had more control over TinyMce. maybe I'll look into it one day because it's a pain as you say.

Basically it has to do with a file manager.  If you own a license to Dolphin, then you get free access to the Moxie File Manger.  You have to download it and install it.  The reason is that Moxie File Manager is a licensed product and in order for Boonex to include it, it has to be for Dolphin licensed users only; that was the agreement made with the owners of the file manager.

Now, if you don't have a license to Dolphin, you can install one of the free file mangers or one of the free uploaders such as justboil.me.

If you are unsure about adding a file manager or one of the uploaders; then contact me and I will do it for a small fee.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
