image rotators???

I have never used an image/banner rotator on my site for promotion. I have seen many being used, always on the front page, just below the menu. I assume they are just flash of some kind. Is it possible for me to use a flash banner rotator that does not come from the boonex market in this place? I have seen several that I like on various flash component sites.

Is it a case of just inserting the html code that pulls the flash from my server, as i do with other flash objects on my site?

Any help will be appreciated.

If you want to use an external banner rotator, as opposed to the basic one built into Dolphin (I've seen a few using OpenX instead), you can create 1 banner for the region you want (IE: bottom of pages), leave the URL field empty, and place the code you wish to insert into the Text field.

Be sure to set your expiration date long in the future (ex: January 1st, 2099) otherwise you might end up wondering a year from now why all your banners dissapeared.

This works for Google AdSense code, OpenX, Adbrite, and so many more.  You can also place them in-line with the site using HTML boxes, or by adding it to a template directly.
