most likely, you have some php_flags in your htaccess and your php build is suphp, try removing the .htaccess file and see if you still get the 500 error. if you do, then open your .htaccess file and clear out all of the php_flags, reload the .htaccess file, and see if you can get to the site. if you can, then you know it was the php_flags in your .htaccess file, so you would need to create a custom php.ini file and put all of your php directives that are required to run locally in that file.

Hi DosDawg thank you for getting back to me ASAP.

Am afraid my hosting server doesn’t support Dolphin well that’s what they told me?

But again it seem like I am not alone who is having this treble with 500 Internal Server Error.
So at this point am kinder confuse or really is they another way that to solve this problem (500 internal server) with some kinder PHP script ????

Why am I confuse?
Well some people are having the same problem as I am and they solve the problem…
And my hosting company one.com told me we don’t support “Dolphin”

Yes I do have my PHP MYSQL database username and password.

I have use MODX before and other CMS and also PHPBB3 i didn't get any error or problem at all?

i will try to do what you told me and see if it solve my problem?

i will get back to you BRB Smile

Hi guys,

First of all I'm sorry about my English. I'm Brazilian.

Reading the forum I noticed many other users getting the same error. I already did all the changes into PHP.ini and .HTACCESS but I'm still getting an error into Dolphin installation (500 Server Internal Error).

Please, can someone help me?

Hey guys, first of all I'm American... Not that that really has anything to do with the price of grapes in Pakistan, but always wanted to say it... Of course, this means you'll have to excuse my Americish...

To fix the error your getting let me give you the absolute best advice anyone can give you on here.

If your are with a host who does not support Dolphin and you are pulling 500 errors at the install level, then leave the host and get with a host who does support Dolphin.  Is it really that hard to begin to comprehend this?  There is a whole list of hosts who support Dolphin and are prepared to help your site run smoothly.  If you should choose to go against this list, figuring you are wiser/smarter/more experienced or just plain old Dumber than those of us who have this software up/running and not getting errors then go for it and use a host that is NOT on the list.

Personally, I'm getting tired of trying to explain to people how to set a php.ini file or .htacess modifications when you have ignored the very first rule of Dolphin, place it on a server that is designed to run it.  Just because you have ran a phpBB3 board in the past, or maybe you owned an OSCommerce site, does not mean that you get to ignore the requirements for Dolphin.  If you do ignore them, then you deserve to get millions of 500 & 404 errors on your site and you will NEVER get it to run like those who have set up correctly.

But then again, if your ignoring these requirements then that means your smarter than those of us who follow them... I guess were just stupid sheep... Right!
