how to stop people using the mobile app?

I understand that they already downloaded my site app but i don't want them to use it right now. They are using mobile 1.5 and it's NOT working well with 7.1.  example, if i click on "friends" it takes me to "Compose"   Really weird.  Is there any trick I can just disable it for now so i have more time to work on mobile 1.6?

Not sure there is a way to actually 'disable' the ability to use mobile on your site since BoonEx offers a default as well on the Market. But, you can 'freak' them out by going into the Mobile page builder and drag all the items into the inactive area..

I went into the page builders, mobile pages and moved everything for the homepage over to inactive items. It does not stop them from logging in, but it does make the homepage blank. If you wanna get real funky with it, you could probably add an icon that does not link to anything buyt says Mobile site is under construction or something like that.

i did that.  i can't remove them at all.  I put them all over to the right side to disable them.  What's weird is.. i still see "sound" there, i didn't even install Sound module.  huh!?

is it something that it's still connecting 7.0.9 and it's not doing anything if i change something in 7.1?  Undecided

hmm - by chance are you using the same passwords and username as you had on your earlier version?

hmm just tested on boonex 1.6 mobile and all of them are gone but I still see them on my 1.5 mobile app.  It looks.... stuck.  :/

do you have the ablilty to delete or clear your cache on your mobile device - other than your browser cache?

I dont know why you are getting what you are getting, just throwing out what I can think of and hoping it helps.

Go into your browsers settings (in the phone) and clear all data and cache.

@Zarcon. Cool - I wasnt sure if it would be the browser cache or another cache. So, the mobile app uses the browser?

Woops.. Not the browser.. HAHA

You should be able to go into your Settings > Applications and click the 'older' mobile app. From there you should see an option to 'Clear Data' and 'Clear Cache' (may not be those exact words)

You know what.. maybe i just upload 1.6 to apple store and hopefully they will update. Once they do that, they get nothing inside. haha  i know it's pretty weird but i'm telling you 1.5 with 7.1 is just awful.

@prodessorSr  How can i add a new icon and show a message?  I would love to have that.

and how long it takes for apple to approve it?  My app is already approved (took me bat 3 months) but will it be faster if i just update it?

Can't we just remove the "xmlprc" directory or change the name of it?

I'm assuming this is an 'Apple' iPhone? Ya know, that's a very good question. I will have to do some searching as I own an Android.

Edit: Nevermind - Oh Newton had to jump on in here renaming stuff.. hahah j/k

@Patrick. OK, I have to remember how I did it.

First - I am not using a branded version of the mobile appp - using the free one from boonex.

Second - add your new button (or whatever) to the sys_menu_mobile table. I just copied an existing one and changed to fit what I needed.

If you login - using the mobile app to www.mytherapysession.com - username = Professor and password = vache (this is for testing so not worried about giving pword and username for this account) - you can see a button called clients that I added which takes the user to their client list of patients.

I'm telling you.. it was a PAIN in the ass to get my app approved.  They asked some stuff like I needed to add "Spam" on each profile and post... blah blah.  I told ilbellodelweb that I needed to have spam for each post which he did.  Tried again.. disapproved then asked me to make sure i have moderators on my app.  i'm like.. wtf?  I have moderators on my website so no need to have moderators on my app.  It went on and on and on for 3 months...  I got pissed off and showed them a list of 10 apps including BOONEX that were approved by apple and they didn't have to have all of this crap. As soon as they got my email, my app got approved.  hahah  what an ass!

I will say that Apple (sorry Patrick) is the biggest Pain to get apps approved. You pay $99 a year and feel like you are trying to pass a bill through congress.

I will say that when they questioned me, all they asked for was a demo account. (that was last year btw)

Banning ones self from their site is much better than getting banned here at Boonex :)
