how to remove PROFILE person icon

Everything else was simple. This profile icon, your cannot change at all. Wont allow it. Instead of BLACK ready to change anything. All typing is light grey and uneditable.

My solution... edit database table sys_menu_top 
Language Key: _my_profile
Default Name: My Profile 
URL: {memberNick}|change_status.php
Picture: bx_profile.png
Icon: ~none~

Then created a language key for _my_profile that equates to My Profile 

Did that and now it says "{MemberNick}". Any ideas?

The key memberNick is case sensitive. It looks like you changed the case. Make sure you have memberNick and not MemberNick

 I have a suggestion that I use for that pesky {memberNick}....

add this to your Admin>Manage Languages

{memberNick}

add what ever you want.. like "My Profile"

compile the languages..

Now you can move that around in say the biggi template and won't have that {memberNick} displaying when it's in the "+" area of the menu..

{memberNick}  is required to generate the correct URL, i.e. linking to the correct member profile based on nickname.

Could an "Administrator" check this, it works for me and pulls the correct profile.

The user name now says "My Profile" and it works for all memberships.

yes it works BUT  says _My_Profile  on the menu. I put everything back into the data base exactly the way it was and still. Weird thing is, when i go to the language and lookup the files i created, it reads "_My_profile". No uppercase "P" like it reads on my site.

 when you entered the {MemberNick} into the languages, in the Text box you would put "My Profile"

then recompile the language file.

ok, works now. Just had to CLEAR SYSTEM CACHE. Then change the database again. Apparently the compile dont do a hack of alot. I kept using that and nothing would change.

I tried doing what your screen capture says. It wont save. Dont even close the window when i do that

This brings me to an interesting question I had, because "Profiles" can be confusing...can you us tags like {memberNick} in description fields so that it displays, for example "John's Profile" ...???

 you can also  set the field Editable to 1

in  sys_menu_top table->My profile column

and go back to  the menu builder to edit caption
