how to delete avatar picture?

How do you delete an avatar picture.  I tried to disable and delete the udnerlying picture but it did not delete the avatar picture.  I think this is important in case an inapporpirate picture gets placed up (yes in most cases I'd suspend the user but I still want ot delete the content itself)

The only way I have found to do this is to go to the persons profile. Click on the user's photo album that contains the avatar/photo. Open that picture and choose Delete from the actions menu.

did someone find a way to delete the avatar?

I have a member which is using another persons photo.

he set that photo as avatar also.

I deleted the photo in modules/photos in admin panel and I deleted the avatar from the server in modules....avatar/data/images

but it still remains on the site....

Clear your ./cache/ and ./cache_public/ directories (leave the .htaccess file intact).
