how to customize quicklinks on dashboard page

I forgot how to customize the quicklinks in Dashboard.  Can anyone give me a quick reminder where to go.

Isn't it just that little checkbox in each item in the menu builder?

I'm talking about these links.  I wrote instructions for myself but lost them.  I know it can be modified as I already did from the default settings, including taking out the store button and others.

Going to bump this from page 4, any other ideas?

That is what I thought the quicklink checkbox on a item in menu builder did.  What is that quicklink for?

Your right, however the setup is a little deceptive.  None of my menu items have quick link checked, but if I check one, save it, then uncheck it, it will disappear.  Thanks Caltrade.

Edit, since changing the one, all the quicklinks show up as checked where they are supposed to.

No problem, I posted elsewhere here, that I thought it would be cool to set up a quick link for "record video".  Right now, that function is really buried and I think it would be nice if a member had a "record video" right on the account page,  that would then save the video to the default folder.  If you (or anyone) can figure that one out please let me know.

If you want to do it without creating any special code you could do this:

Create a new block in the menu builder under videos and name it Record Video

For the link past in: m/videos/albums/my/add_objects/   --This link will take the user to an upload page where they can input their video, however the downside is that it will place the video in an album with no name but will accomplish, albeit crudely, what you want.

Step 3 is to mark the new button as a quick link and it will appear.

Otherwise a script has to be created to create the button and I don't know how to do that yet.

is there any way to display a quick link on the dashboard without displaying it on the navigation bar also?

It's in the navigation builder... just double click on the link to edit and check the quick links box.

Hello, I know this is a question posted much later on - but I've read everything on this topic in this post and I was wondering - how can you modify the Quick Links that appear on each page separately? For example - the default Quick Links on the Account page have only "Home" and "Inbox".  How would I modify that to have other Quick Links added to that particular page or any other particular page?

In the navigation menu builder, you can specify if a menu item is added to the quick menu or not; there is a checkbox for this.  Click on a menu item and you will see in the pop-up a checkbox for showing that menu item in quick links.

Geeks, making the world a better place
