how do you delete categories in the article mod

when you create an article, i see you can add a new category, but only by creating an artcile. bit lame. is there another more sensible way to create and delete categories with the article and news mods?

 You can manage the Categories for most mods by logging into Admin then go to Settings => Categories Settings.
