help me understand timeline/outline & object alert

I've been running into an issue where certain (specific) members will upload a new photo and it goes straight to their album with no option to edit & save the details, the uploaded photo is also never posted to the outline or their timeline.

Initially, I fixed this by backing up the database tables & uninstalling/reinstalling the photos module, then importing the database tables back, as explained in this post: http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/photo-video-upload-glitch.htm

It seems that over time, this issue has presented its ugly face on my production site again. If anybody could help me understand where the process is failing & how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated. With my site now in production, I don't like the thought of reinstalling the module all over again, it's far too tedious and messy :(

This has been happening to me over the years, I never complained or seen your other topic.

It's so random, it's hard to duplicate. I've added the max files and all five have done this..

Be nice to find why.

What puzzles me is how I was able to fix it temporarily, then it broke again.

I am wondering if Facebook connect (using deanos) has anything to do with it, haven't had time to test in a sandbox to validate this though.

It unlikely has anything to do with my module.

The only time my module even sends photos to the photo album is during the join process when photos are imported from facebook. And even then it uses the functions built into dolphin to upload photos. It does not have it's own photo functions.

Another thing you will want to check is has any of these members changed their nickname. I remember there being problems in the past with photo albums when a member changed their nickname.

I figured that'd be a stretch, but it's honestly the only change I invoked on the back end since I started noticing the problem again. It very well could have surfaced prior to installing facebook connect, but I hadn't noticed.

I'm actually experiencing this issue with my own user account on my site, otherwise I typically wouldn't hear from a member about them not showing up. No username changes, profile data wasn't even updated. Videos still work & generate appropriate thumbnails as well as blogs and polls with my account, it's only photos (the first time I ran into the problem it was photos & video).

Further information this little issue -

Mobile uploads seem to work as expected, when uploading from my account they actually show up on the timeline & outline.

Still no good from within the web browsers.
