Unfortunately, ranking high up in search engines takes a while. You can add keywords to your meta tags and if your hosting company has a site submittal software, you can use that as well. It took me a year of constant work on one of my sites and now if you do a google search from any of the nearby states around me....I rank 2nd on the search page.

Persistence is the key to success. Keep on at it and you will get presence. SEO is by no means an overnight process. Good luck.

i would suggest the mtools module that is free, and has an option for applying google analytics.

seems there was also some mod that was free that allowed or instructed on how to apply meta tags on all pages.

then there is a hack i have done to one of my sites, this was actually done from something i read in here at some point.

Thanks for the heads up DosDawg. I didn't know about mtools...although I haven't looked either.

there is a bit of a quirk about it, it does a sql injection, and if you have darrens live validation form, the sql injection of the jscript from mtools will overwrite the sql  injection from darrens form fields validation.

so you gotta kinda tweak on it. and when i contact the author listed on the README, he wrote back and said he was no longer supporting the module. i have asked martinboi to take a look at it, because it is a great asset to those who need to utilize such things as google analytics.

Thanks for the heads up DosDawg. I didn't know about mtools...although I haven't looked either.

Yeah...I don't have any of Darren's modules. I did go to the developers site too but found that there is nothing more than a readme.txt file in the zip file. I need to see where I can download it from. I emailed the seller from the boonex site...so hopefully, I will hear something back.

Thanks

Search Engine traffic will take a while. But make sure to submit your website to all search engines out there.

I think this is the hack post DosDawg was referring to.  I used it and it works great:

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Better-SEO-Title-for-member-profile-pages.htm

As to meta tags, search engines don't seem to pay attention to them any more.  You'd be better off using a sitemap generator that submits notifications to the search engines about sitemap updates.  They do follow up on those.  It's like the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets greased.

Search the forums for free sitemap mods.  But my understanding is they only work for public sites (viewing profile pages and other content is open to the public, not restricted to members).  Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Someday, Someway.
