Hello iampan,

During the install process, there should be a link to the detailed install:

http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DetailedInstall

If you have Shell access, I highly recommend using the text provide on this page.  It makes the install so much easier...

For example, all you need to do to update the scripts is copy and executve this line:

chmod 777 ./backup ./cache ./groups/gallery ./groups/orca/cachejs ./groups/orca/classes ./groups/orca/js ./groups/orca/layout ./groups/orca/log ./inc ./langs ./media/images ./media/images/banners ./media/images/blog ./media/images/classifieds ./media/images/gallery ./media/images/profile ./media/images/profile_bg ./media/images/promo ./media/images/promo/original ./media/images/sdating ./media/images/sharingImages ./media/sound ./media/video ./orca/cachejs ./orca/classes ./orca/conf ./orca/js ./orca/layout ./orca/log ./periodic ./tmp

Follow this install to the letter and you should be good to go.

Hello iampan,

If you are remoting in, do you have root access?  Or does your account give you the rights to change the read write execute permissions for files?

When you do an ls -la, what is the group/user for the files?  Do you have rights to edit these files?  Alot of the times in Linux, permissions are 99% of the problem.

Instead of uploading to the server, try putting the zip file on the server and extracting the directories that way.  Perhpas the permissions are changing during your ftping?

Thanks.

Adam
