global_settings.php not saving

global_settings.php is not saving and it returns Error 400.

I am using D6.1.6. On Admin -> Advanced Settings, when I try to save changes I get an Error 400 "The webpage cannot be found". In fact even if I don't change anything just opening the 'Advanced Settings' and clicking on 'Save Changes' button I still face the same issue. I installed Dolphin 7 RC and had the same issue. However, when I click on Save for watermark it works fine. Same problem when I try to Save Templates.

In other words admin/global_settings.php gives this problem only when cat=1 or cat=4 (i.e. http://mysite.com/admin/global_settings.php?cat=1 and http://mysite.com/admin/global_settings.php?cat=4

It is strange that I couldn't find anyone else in this forum experienceing the same problem.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am new to Dolphin and I am trying to run it for almost 3 weeks now. I was looking for a similar type of a script and if it does the work for me I would gladly become a part of the community and even purchase it for my site.

Once again any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Dolphin runs perfect out of the box on most hosts. If it doesnt run its your host. You can change like changing a shirt. Switch till it runs smooth. 1000's give you 30 days free

Thanks Daren (saw your profile – impressive),

I have my own server and I have other domains hosted on it. So I realy can't change it. Do you (or anyone please) know if I can get server settings' instruction for Dolphin? I can have my IT people to modify the server settings.

Thanks in advance.

please check the url it should be :

global_settings.php?cat=1&

not

global_settings.php?cat=1

to do this click on the little wrecnch at the bottom of the left hand menu ...its tiny!

with this open you look inthe settings line of blocks and click on advanced settings

in there the url may have to be updated.

if thats good

then check the htaccess for the admin folder...should be:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

RewriteEngine off

</IfModule>

404 says man I cant find this bloody page...we have to find out why

Server setting instructions are all over the place.  Look at the requirements of dolphin, you'll find them in the same place that you downloaded D6 from.
