fun mods for your website

Hi people what are the most fun and cool mods on the market for a fun website , please list them below . many thanks

there are no mods on the market. I bought almost all of the mods at the market. So buying a mod or all mods on the market will not make your site successful. Stay away from too much mods on the market. if you can just design or find someone to design  custom mods for you that will be much healthy and safe for your site from attack.

First; you have to know what make your site different than all of the Billion of site out there.

Second; you need a great chat system.

Flashcoms is okay but their services is suck plus if on the future you want to change the site name you will lose all the money you spent on flashcoms therefore; I don't recommend them to anyone. Stay away from Flashcoms chat room. I lost over $1200 on Flashcoms community chat, site messenger and buying their support service plus service to install the mod for me. Now I can't even use the mods because I've changed the site name while I redirect the old name to the new name.

Third; you have to know where do you want to take your site. Don't say oh I want a site like hi5, fb, or twitter. You have to know what make you "You". if you can find out what make you " You" then people will come and invite their friends to your site.

Honestly- If when I started if I knew what I know now, and still had all money I have spent so far, I would instead invest in just a few mods and pay to make them exactly as I want. I now look at many or most mods similar as I look at Dolphin- Most are simply a base idea needing to be formed into something much better and different and suitable for the people I want our website to serve.

On another token- There is much you can do to arrange and design a unique look to wrap around different modules----This requires learning CSS and HTML

But then you must also put time into learning PHP to modify and improve functionality.....Otherwise, you will be spending a good amount of money paying others to develop your ideas.

The web likes to paint a picture that everyone can build an awesome website for free....BUT- CMS isn't an easy FREE platform for those without prior web-building experience, and requires a lot of dedication for you to achieve your goals of success as you define that success. If you're lucky, your goals aren't focused on $$$$ as success, but rather instead to see if you can bring something new to the table and continue to improve yourself and your site.

IMO- It's quite a roller-coaster ride ;)

Hi there are some great mods here tho modzzz makes some great ones like , profile tags , whos viewed me ,meetme , and super pokes , plus you can change the basics easily .

The most usefull mods in the market are the "admin" mods that allow you to monitor, manage and controll your site and your members. These will make your job 1000% easier. I can log onto my site as any member, change anything, ban anyone or any where, monitor posts and print out lists of member details from the database..... THIS IS PRICELESS....

If you just use the same "Fun" mods that are in the market as every other Dolphin site then your site will be no different to every other dolphin site, and there are wayyyyyyy toooo many of them now. Think - What is your unique selling point? What is your site going to do that is different or better than the competition? Then go and pay BIG bucks to have the mod 100% custom made for you and you alone! (beware that if you do not have an agreement with a developer in the market that the code or modification to an existing mod is exclusive to you, then it will most likely be sold on to other users).

1 unique 100% origional mod that functions 100% as you want and makes your site different is worth more that all the mods on the market combined IMHO....

Also beware the addage - "Build it and they will come." They wont!!!!! Genuine members for EVERY site are increasingly difficult to come by. If your site ever hits 1000 regular members you will be in the top 5% or so of dolphin sites that have not died a death.....

I like some of the modzz mod. I bought more than 50 mods from him and some of the mods I bought them twice. Modzzz need to update or upgrade "Are You Interested mod" a great mod but that mod is not telling the members someone interested. It's  only sending email.  a pop up block on profile and account would be really nice to show that member how many people interested. Some type of Alert on the site.

the secret is the template you use , if the features are good , people will join.

Game mods are a good fun thing to have on your site.  I would like to add the two player games to my site, like chess, and backgammon, and such.  There is a free mod that adds Texas Holdem to your site where members play against each other; I intend to add that one to my site.

Yeah I recommend the 'Live Texas Holdem' for sure ;)

If you ask me and I'm sure many other people will agree ....  this FREE mod could be one of the best, fun, most social and most unique Dolphin integrated module's available currently.

Saying this the disadvantage that this mod has is that it works best with active communities ..... playing by yourself is not the same with Poker :/

 files within the 'poker' folder ... change the configure.php to 777 during install and when complete change back to 644 ...

what about a feature were the members avatar can sit round the table 

Hi i just looked at the avatars file its set at 755 before i have even started , any reason as it stats 644 , screenshot added

there is over 50 poker avatars provided ... there was just a small number before.

Syclops and myself tried HARD to pull the avatars from actual profiles but it's a real pain and we didn't want to mess with the code anymore than necessary at the time of release due to the fact it had already been hacked apart making it work and integrated with dolphin.

Like I said we are encouraging everyone to work together and play around with our code and share ideas / fixes ...

Just tested this mod , wow its great , well done i love it , its very cool.

 I'm curious.  When and how did you acquire the right to distribute phppoker? This was a paid script up until the time the author and his site phppoker.net disappeared into a black hole.  I am not aware of the original author transferring distribution rights to anyone.

There are lots of different variations of phppoker across the web ...

The code I acquired had been hacked apart soooo much the script was practically non-working or rather was non working!

The script has now been changed that much as far as code and there has been many more features added that you cannot really relate it to phppoker anymore .... more like 'Dolphin Poker'

I am confident we will not be seeing anyone jumping out of any black hole and challenging this work plus there is no one here trying to make money from it's release at Boonex

Slim to none actually, as it's one of the buttons that converts really well. I will however look into this, as I've noticed myself as well that the menu becomes unreachable :(
