footer out of align on account page

first off new to forum .been using dolphin and doing upgrades all along to 7.1 everything working great  till last night , on all account pages the footer has gone goofy lol only on account pages no other page , it has basically created a box the full size of page behind all blocks.and taken everything in the 3rd column and put it under the second column as well as shifting the first column to left .so basically all blocks are over the footer that is now the size of the whole page, not sure if you follow me here. no changes were made or mods added that would have done this .any help would be great or any idea whats up

ok here is a screen shot i just took still same issue i can not add a 3rd column to page it really messes up members are complaining because i had to remove almost everything from the page all blocks overlap the footer all the way to the top of the page . even paid to be able to post here and no help yet ,

i am not sure as to what may have caused this for you - but when it happened to me is because i was uploading my files using dreamweaver - which had been working for years with no issues. I switched to filezilla and winscp, and everything was fine. For some reason, due to group owner and such, my files were not being completely uploaded using dreamweaver.

So - I would suggest using another ftp program to upload your new module and any files you may have edited yourself - this is what i did and it resolved my issue.

i use filzila as well .hav not uploaded any files or mods and its only on my account pages no others. everything has been doing fine till othernight went to my account page and problem was there checked other account pages for members and on all of them , forum blogs store events groups and so all fine , when i install on page builder a new column and add a block to it it puts it in the number 2 column and really makes a mess of things . but all i use is filzilla for anything on all sites.

just another thought - did you try moving all blocks to inactive and placing back to active one at a time - to see if it is something in a block that is having an issue, and then seeing which block it is?

ok after we did this above and started to install blocks its appearing to be the special block view events on friends timeline block

ok, so - out of curiosity - is there an event that has a single quote (') in it's name?

was a member post using word does'nt was all i could see deleted it but no change after refresh and cach clear as well if this is what your refering to

yes- i have seen a lot of posts lately about single quotes causing funny things to happne, was hoping yours was as simple as that.

I am not sure what else you could check if you have not made any changes to anything. Hopefully someone with greater knowledge can lead you to what you need. But at least you have a starting point as it only acts up when putting the special block events into the active area.

thanks for the help at least we know were the problem is pinned down to . i will look back further in timeline as well wonder as well if maybe on anothers thats not friended with myself yet. if thats the case this could be a big issue from now on since grammer does use that lol angain many thanks and hope another may have idea here

another question which mayt come up later and will be hopefully to those wanting to help - did you use an autoinstaller when installing Dolphin, or did you do the installation manually?

 to add a third column on index, your going to have to adjust the width just a bit wider than the default 1140px try something like 1400px for almost full width for index.

e.g. for this index to show three columns in the outline and have space for the left and right sides, I use 1330px for this index page width..

i did the install downloading the patches along the way as betas were put out, used fillzilla, also did the widen page as you mentioned newton , however what i did find was this ,i had installed the mmd full width colomn mod about 2 weeks back .being last mod i did and did not install right . so i just went and reinstalled the original inc and admin files overwriting the others ,now lookin at site it seemed to have fixed issue with timeline and page footer seems good, still need to reintsall all the blocks we put into inactive but appears had to do with the full column mod, will let you know as i check closer , i do wish to thank you both for helping, it got me looking into a new direction of issue .was at a dead end on my own ,again many thanks .reading the thread on full column mod appears its worked fine for others so not sure it may not have overwrote correctly or good chance i just pulled a fubar lol

well after reloading it all back to how it was i have the three columns .so looks like it was the full column mod that was the cause .thanx again for the help .
