ffmpeg.exe in Windows 64-bit

I'm running Dolphin 7.0.4 on Windows 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5 on a dedicated machine, I recently had a bunch of trouble installing RMS but I finally got it going. I have the RMS version 7.0.4.1.

When I post videos on my site through upload in the Add Video section, the upload works fine, I get a 100% complete and then I always get a Upload Video Failure (Video Error) message. I checked the Host Tools under the Tools section of the Admin Panel some of my Host parameters were off so I changed them. When I check to see if the ffmpeg.exe was correct under that tab it said that my version of that file was not correct for my Operating System, I got the default install package from Dolphin 7.0.4, so I figure the ffmpeg under the flash>modules>global>app folder in that is for Linux, so I went to he download page and got the ffmpeg.exe for Windows download.

In that folder it lists ffmpeg.exe and two other files pthreadGC2.dll and SDL.dll I didn't know what the those other two files were for, so I just uploaded the ffmpeg.exe file into the app folder overwriting the one that was there.

I checked the Hosting Parameters again under Hosting tools and all my parameters were good matches but the ffmpeg.exe output reading was blank, previously it had said that my ffmpeg.exe file was incompatible and it also said that their might be an issue since I'm running a 64-bit OS and the file exe is 32-bit.

So I did the upload again and it failed the same as it did before. Now I'm adding the dll files to the same folder where I put the ffmpeg.exe file to see if that fixes it. I wanted to put this on the forum for people to read and make sure that I'm not missing anything. If anyone can tell me if I am or where else to check, that would be appreciated. Thanks.

OK now after uploading the dll files I get this in the ffmpeg.exe output column instead of a blank -

FFmpeg version SVN-r9017, Copyright (c) 2000-2007 Fabrice Bellard, et al. configuration: --enable-memalign-hack --enable-pthreads --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libogg --enable-libvorbis --enable-libtheora --enable-libamr-nb --enable-libamr-wb --enable-libgsm --enable-libnut --enable-x264 --enable-gpl --enable-swscaler --enable-liba52 --enable-xvid --enable-libfaad --enable-libfaac --enable-libdts --enable-avisynth --cpu=i686 --disable-shared --enable-static libavutil version: 49.4.0 libavcodec version: 51.40.4 libavformat version: 51.12.1 built on May 13 2007 17:41:26, gcc: 4.1.2 ffmpeg SVN-r9017 libavutil 3212288 libavcodec 3352580 libavformat 3345409

So now I'll try the upload again and see if it works and report back.

OK the problem is that on Windows the flv format codec isn't supported, so ffmpeg.exe kept giving an error because the the original file I was uploading was flv and it would not convert it. I tried the process with an wmv file and it worked. So the input file needs to be a format that the OS has codecs for.

So it's a matter of setting up the Windows OS to have codecs for the file format used as input, also the other features like video recording for comments I'd suspect is going to be done in flv the way it's all set up, so getting an error message in this area as well must also have to do with the codecs not bing there.

In my experience with getting codecs for my desktop PC I know that big media codec package K-something, so is it a matter of installing this on my server or what exactly do i do to make sure that the ffmpeg.exe has the right codec to work with flash and be functional with how Dolphin uses it?

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
