event goes to page not found

I can see my calendar and post an event, but when I go to view the event it goes to a page not found page. Is there some code possibly mission?

I had a persistent problem with every link in every module not working, whenever I selected a link, it showed an error page 'not found'.

It turned out to be a problem with the 'Permalinks'  setting in the "settings" section.

Digging further, i realized that the "permalinks" functionallity was not there because of the "AllowOverride" setting in my "Apache" configuration file set to "none". Should have been set to "All".
