Hi
I had this problem to, someone suggested I disable permalinks for those pages affected. Don't ask me why this happens as I am not really sure. To do this you need to:
- Log into you admin account
- Go to menu Settings -> Permalinks
- Uncheck the affected menus
- Go to Builders -> Navagation Menu Builder
- Double click on one of the active items
- Select Save Changes (These last three steps rebuild the menu structure I am told
- Then exit and go see if your issues have been resolved
Cheers

first thing i would like to turn you onto is the search feature of this forum. on the menu on the left of the page there, you will see just under the Forums button, Search Forums, this works a treat. had you queried these forums for your issue, just as you have it on your posted topic, you would have gotten an answer. there is not much any new installer is going to come across that those of us who have been here for any period of time have not encountered. so please in the future, try to search the forums prior to posting. would be greatly appreciated.
now to answer you post. the problem is your .htaccess was not sent to the server, or the default .htaccess on your server was not overwritten if you uncompressed from the server. so what you need to do is open your dolphin files, you will see that your htaccess file size that was packed with dolphin is substantially larger than the htaccess you have on your server currently. push the htaccess over onto your server and you will find that all of the urls that are written in the htaccess which ultimately are part of your pemalinks, will not resolve.
hope this gets you square.

Hi
In my particular instance, the .htaccess file is present and correct i.e. the dolphin one. All the paths for the permalinks are present and correct in this file.

Sorry. I have run out of ideas on this one. Your issue sounded very similar to mine, so thought my solution may work. The only thing I can suggest at the moment is ensuring you have rebuilt the menus properly by going into the navigation menu builder and resaving something. Maybe soming else has some ideas on this.

Ok. I am offically STUPID. The use of .htaccess files was switched off by default on the new web host I was using. My permalinks are now up and running. You might want to check whether this is the case in the control panel of your web host.

My .htaccess has always been not more than 9KB and it is working fine...
70KBs? What code should it contain?
|
Hi
My .htaccess file is also between 7-8kbs and is also working fine now. It is the default one that boonex provides.
