enough is enough!!!

Hacked yet again!!! 2nd time in 3 weeks my server root has been attacked and I am locked out of my site. HFW security sucks. Boonex security sucks. Are there any hosts where these attacks are not getting through?

I dont know why people constantly signing up with proven most terrible hosts like HFW and Arvixe and than compain. You have to look for real hosts than u gonna be more secured.

Both arvixe and HFW use old servers and incapable cheap Indian staff who dont understand english properly but mainly dont understand what they do...unless u are forwarded to high grade support level staff. SO first I will do is cancel your HFW service and find some real host with reliable server.

ALso I recommend to pay for that new godaddy secure service to improve your security  - as part of that service is ability of free consultation with security engineer who can help u improve weak parts.. There is more web security services, scanners like mcaffe secure and few more, but they are pretty expensive, godaddy looks cheapest ..I think its about 5 USd/month

I have to have a dedicated server... I pay a bloody fortune for a server that spends more time dead than alive....

this service is something to look into once you are back on your feet wherever you may venture. they probe the site daily for security vulnerabilities, and report to you how to address the issues.

HFW servers sucks a big time and even more sucks HFW staff ..I really recommend u chenge your hosting company at first place..

YEs thats the service I was reccommended also like DOs  ...its godaddy service but I didnt tested it myslef so dunoo .. but its pretty cheap ..I think its only starting price which raise in some time ..

Quote · 30 Nov 2011

the price as far as i know is a standard rate, if you purchase for x years, then the rate wont change, but for a few bucks a month, you get your site probed for security problems, and engineers that will direct you, though not do the work for you, but provide direction on what needs to be done to close the security gaps.

Nathan,

Did you ever install CSF Firewall and mod_security? They are both free and simple to use.. I'm not sure how these people are getting in your server but between those two they block almost everything.

I think she need mainly some security engineer who check all basic stuff like folders permissions, file permissions, setup mod security and firewall on server etc.... shouldnt cost too much and helps to improve security

I have been with Hostgator since god was wearing short trousers. I am on my second dedi with them. They are not the cheapest at this level, I pay about $235 per month for a managed dedi. The thing is that they help with security, lend a hand with advice and have been a big help in dealing with security issues - albeit I have not need THAT help on Dolphin installs.

One thing I like a lot is that they are good about transferring sites into their system and very good about the upgrade process.

Oh, support is US based, you can have online chat, talk on the phone, use email or their support desk and, if absolutely necessary the owner can still be reached. ;)

I have to second that, dustybin.  Whenever I need hosting, I head straight to HostGator.com.  They've always provided the product I need at the right price, and their technical support staff is among the best I've seen... in any industry.

Best of all, they're local for me (about 4-5 miles away).  If I have a problem, I'll drive up Hwy 290 and knock on the front door of their building.  I've never seen the front door of their building, so what does that tell ya'?  :)
