does anyone know of a good program for this

I had written one for 6.0.X that would loop through the database and output all the members emails on screen with commas between them so you could cut and paste them into a 3rd party email program, is that what you're looking for?

Here ya go, it just loops through the database and spits all the users emails out on the screen with commas between them so you can cut and paste it all in a 3rd party email client. Just drop it in the /public_html dir and run it (www.yoursite.com/emailextractor.php)

Like I said, it ain't fancy but it's free lol..

Oh and it isn't password protected so either delete it or rename it to something php won't parse when you're done.

That one is $40.. mine is free and less complicated :-)

You can also check the Profile Exporter mod at http://www.boonex.com/m/Profile_Exporter . It is flexible by allowing you to select all records or a subset based on certain criteria and you can specify the data field(s) you want to export.

i am looking for a email extractor where i can go to other sites and pull members email addresses that way not from my own 

waste of time mostly trying to do that.

You will end up with loads of system emails, non existent emails, emails that will report you as spam etc...

Quickest way to get blacklisted...

 We've had a lot of requests for site scrapers, email extracters and other things that are morally and legally questionable... these are NOT the way to go to build a quality site that will take off!

I need to extract emails from an old DOlphin site of mine, I lost the data when my host had a problem with the server harddrive... had to reinstall a new hd but managed to lose the database.

Luckily I had an old backup, but for some reason, it will not install correctly, no matter what I do, I cannot get the site back online (lucky it was one of my own sites...).

Is there a script to take the emails straight from the database backup? or even better straight from the db backup file?

maybe you can insert the profile table in a temporary database and use the script, obviously set it up for the new DB connection. Its a quick and easy solution but there must be others also. 

 Thats what Ive tried, but for some reason it just wont work. 

Works on other databases I have, just not the one I need to restore!
